I’d like to make you smile

which hopefully won’t take a while

But I’m usually never very good at these things.

A smile is so easy to make

and yet difficult to fake

So please, just curl your lips for me.

It won’t cost you a dime

because it’s not a crime

to light up your face every so often.

It’s a gift not just for you

but it would make me feel less blue

So please, give me a smile.
