Fix it,

Make it better.

Read me a story

Sing me a song

Rub my stomach

And smooth my hair.

Tuck me in

Hold me close

Scratch my back

Spoon me all night long.

Hold my hand

Take your arm

Piggy back rides to

Carry you like a sick person up a mountain.

Force me in front of a mirror

Take a picture

Trace your face for memory

Kiss me again

All five points

Hug me harder

Clinging to what is now.

Tell me what I need

What I want

To hear you say

I love you too.

Confess it around

Family friends pets

You’re not afraid

You’re clinging to what is now

And I’ll never loosen that grip.
